Description

The
Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) coordinates communication between nursing staff, physicians, other departments, professional staff, patients, and families relating to patient care.

The HUC facilitates unit operations through knowing and communicating information, managing the desk area, facilitating the use of technology, monitoring and communicating bed status, and coordinating downtime procedures.

The HUC utilizes Epic to facilitate patient care orders and serves as an Epic resource to physicians and the nursing staff.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Keyboarding skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Knowledge of data entry systems
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fastpaced, dynamic environment
  • Effective organizational skills

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a health care setting

Must be available the first week of employment for HUC orientations that takes place Monday - Friday 8AM - 4:30PM
