    The Senior Director of Strategic Enrollment Management is a senior professional at the Vanderbilt Divinity School who uses innovative recruitment, enrollment, and financial aid strategies for professional students and collects and harnesses data and analytics to shape, explain, model, and project enrollment trends. This position supports the Divinity School to attract and enroll well-qualified and diverse Divinity students. The primary responsibility of the Senior Director is the strategic leadership and administration for the Divinity School's enrollment management activities including admissions and financial aid.

    The Senior Director is a source of expertise on enrollment management, using a strategic understanding of the interlocking/interdependent role of enrollment analytics in the support of new student enrollment, student success, student retention, and tuition revenue. The Senior Director develops and refines data-driven strategies to assist with managing enrollments. This position ensures that leadership has the data and analysis needed to make informed decisions that advance the Divinity School's goals. This position develops and implements enrollment strategies, evaluates and reports outcomes with analytical, fiscal, and other regular and ad hoc reports to inform the administration and improve processes. The Senior Director provides critical analysis of student enrollment trends and creates models to predict enrollment. This position develops tools to assist with enrollment forecasting and assessing the viability of recruitment initiatives. The Senior Director is charged with moving the Divinity School to the next level of strategic enrollment planning with data-informed analytics. Reporting to the Dean of the Divinity School, the Senior Director of Strategic Enrollment Management also has a direct dotted line to the Vice Provost for University Enrollment Affairs and will sit on the University Enrollment Affairs Leadership team. In addition, this role will work closely with Director of Analytics and Enrollment Strategy, Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships, Data and Strategic Analytics (DSA), Process and Solution Implementations (PSI), University Registrar's Office (URO), and others as appropriate to ensure the accessibility and quality of the data supporting decision-making.

    Duties and Responsibilities:
    • With key partners, executes the development of strategic enrollment goals for academic profile, net revenue, retention and student success, diversity, and approaches to student financial assistance, and creates and executes an enrollment plan to achieve those goals.
    • Stays abreast of current recruitment trends, yield strategies, and general research related to admissions and financial aid. Translates this research into meaningful information for the Divinity School.
    • Actively builds new sources of potential students domestically and internationally and is responsible for increasing applications.
    • Actively recruits students while also taking full responsibility for overseeing and coordinating recruitment events.
    • Travels to represent the Divinity School professionally where there are potential new relationships for the Divinity school to develop and foster.
    • Creates enrollment models, using predictive analysis and descriptive statistics, and translates these into recommendations for action.
    • Ensures that colleagues have relevant, structured, clean data to inform enrollment strategy. Serves as the lead for developing enrollment metrics.
    • Understands how various financial aid strategies can be used to leverage enrollment.
    • Represents Vanderbilt professionally in the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO) Strategic Enrollment Management association, including being an active participant in this organization.
    • Represents Vanderbilt professionally in the Association of Theological Schools (ATS), the Divinity School's commission on accrediting, including being an active participant in this organization.
    • Understands how the Slate platform can be used to further the recruitment, marketing, selection, and yield goals of the Divinity School.
    • Analyzes indicators of market conditions, understanding the factors affecting different programs, levels, and types of students.
    • Collaborates with faculty and associate/assistant deans to establish and achieve enrollment goals.
    • Collaborates with the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs to develop recruitment strategies that meet diversity and inclusion goals.
    • Oversees and manages budget for the Admissions and Enrollment Office, inclusive of tuition, financial aid, and scholarships, in addition to operating expenses.
    • Represents the Divinity School Admissions and Enrollment Office in leadership efforts at the School and University.
    • Oversees communications, including the Divinity School website and written materials, related to admissions and financial aid.
    • Builds, executes, and updates a recruitment marketing plan in conjunction with Vanderbilt Communications leadership.
    • Fosters new relationships and engages in outreach to help increase the Divinity Schools reputation and visibility.
    • Collaborates with Associate Dean for Academic Affairs to maintain records necessary for accreditation.
    Supervisory Relationships:

    This position has supervisory responsibility over the Associate Director of Recruitment and Admissions. This position reports administratively and functionally to the Dean.

    Qualifications
    • A Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education is necessary.
    • A Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in business, public policy, higher education administration, or a related field is preferred.
    • A minimum of eight years of higher education or enrollment management or admissions (any combination) experience is necessary.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills is necessary.
    • Professional experience in equity, diversity, and inclusion is preferred.
    • Experience in higher education administration is necessary.
    • Leadership experience in organizational and fiscal management including planning, developing, and evaluating programs and personnel is necessary.
