POSITION PURPOSE: The Head Coach is responsible for all aspects of the program to create an experience that allows students to fully discover their unique design and divine purpose by engaging in basketball-related activities.

DIRECT REPORT: Athletic Director

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive basketball program that includes a growth and development strategy for the whole program from 6th – 12th grades, as well as creating opportunities for our K-5th students to be involved in the program
• Organize and conduct practice with a heavy emphasis on team development, individual grown, and skill development
• Create an atmosphere of discipleship and build meaningful relationships with the players and their families
• Create and maintain a positive, life giving team culture that furthers the mission of CPA
• Lead and motivate players to play to the best of their abilities in practice and in game situations
• Support students outside of the basketball program and be involved in various school events and activities
• Lead and develop the coaching staff
• Coordinate with appropriate administrators and officials to ensure compliance with all rules and regulations
• Collaborate with other members of the athletic department and coaching staffs to create a cohesive and supportive athletic program
• Create and coordinate game schedules
• Communicate consistently to ensure players and families have all the necessary information

Education

• Bachelor's degree required
• Master's degree valued

Requirements

All employees must commit to performing their duties in accordance with the stated mission and purpose of the school, CPA 101, CPA Policies and Procedures Manual, and the Westminster Confession of Faith.
