    Description
    Johnson & Johnson MedTech is recruiting for a Manager Software Engineering, GUI located in Santa Clara, CA. This position is based in Santa Clara, CA and may require up to 10% travel. (NOT REMOTE) Johnson & Johnson MedTech innovates at the intersection of biology and technology.

    With a focus on treating with pinpoint precision in the hardest-to-reach parts of the body, restoring anatomy and reimagining healing, our portfolio of smarter, less invasive, more personalized treatments is addressing the most complex diseases.


    Focus areas include:
    Interventional Solutions, Orthopedics, Surgery and Vision.

    The Manager Software Engineering, GUI plays a key role in leading the development of the multiple graphical user interfaces used in robotic surgery.

    She/he will understand the system from both a technical perspective and the user's viewpoint, and guide her/his team in the design and development of the GUI applications that ultimately enable surgeons on a next-generation surgical robotic system to provide better patient outcomes.

    We will set a new industry benchmark for robotic surgical capability. We are looking for a candidate who can lead, mentor, and motivate her/his team to successful product delivery. The candidate is flexible, self-motivated, curious and passionate about revolutionizing the world of medical robotics.

    #RADSW Key Responsibilities:

    Build, lead, and mentor a team of hardworking engineers focused on providing GUI applications for a surgical robotics applicationContribute to the software architecture design to enable future enhancements and iterative releasesContribute to process improvements and collaborations to improve productivity and ensure complianceWork with software, robotics, User Experience (UX), and other specialists (clinical, system engineering, instruments, integration, human factors, labeling) as part of a focused multi-functional team developing the user interfaces for surgical roboticsInteract with the User Experience, Clinical Engineering, System Engineering, Product Marketing, and Program Management teams to define requirements and validate featuresCollaborate with internal and external third-party companies from both business and technical perspectivesSupport C software development, design discussion, and code reviews where appropriateIdentify, manage and mitigate technical and project risk through coordination with teams in R&D and external collaboratorsEducation:Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalentExperience and Skills: Required:2 years of professional experience managing software teams5 years of professional experience developing software productsMinimum 5 years of Object-Oriented developmentStrong understanding of software design/architecture and hardware integrationExperience with Unit testing and software Verification and Validation processesCollaborative teammate with excellent written and in-person communication skillsProven leadership and collaboration working in distributed environments and teamsAbility to work in a regulated environment in compliance to ISO 13485 and 21 CFR 820Preferred: 3 years technical experience working in GUI developmentProficiency with multi-threaded applicationsExperience developing C for multi-target applications (Qt and Linux)Experience with UI/UX development for natural interfacesExperience working in an Agile development environment.

    The Company may however extend this time-period, in which case the posting will remain available on to accept additional applications.
