    If you are looking for a challenging opportunity to plan and design custom machinery and automation systems, this role could be for you.


    Your day-to-day tasks will include researching, planning, and designing custom cartooning and case packing equipment used in conjunction with food production lines.

    Our client is a growing and privately held Chicago area custom food production equipment manufacturer.

    They're known as a leader in their industry and are looking for an experienced mechanical engineer who is ready to grow with them and take on new and challenging projects designing custom food production equipment and packaging lines.

    Client Overview

    Known for being the experts supplying a broad-based range of food production systems and robotic equipment
    A local company with more than 100 years of experience designing, producing, and installing food production equipment and robotic packaging systems for clients worldwide

    Position Overview

    Develop complex cartoning and case packing equipment used in conjunction with food production equipment to customer specifications
    Work with customers, suppliers and sales teams to solve complex system requirements
    Create, modify and update all mechanical drawings
    Perform engineering change documents and make revisions to drawings
    Prepare engineering calculations while ensuring that drawings comply with engineering standards
    Use Solidworks to coordinate and prepare detailed machine and parts drawings

    Candidate Requirements

    Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering required
    More than 5 years experience designing cartoning, case packing or packaging machinery
    Proficiency using Solidworks
    Ability to work with team members and customers in a cross-functional team oriented setting
    Strong interpersonal as well as verbal and written communication skills

    Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without restrictions
