UNRWA USA is excited to announce a newly created position: Director of Admin and Operations.

As we continue to expand our efforts in support of Palestine refugees, we're seeking an energetic and confident individual to ensure the effective and efficient administrative and operational functions of UNRWA USA.

The director will play a critical role in strategic decision-making as UNRWA USA continues to enhance its operations and build capacity.

The Administration and Operations Director will report to the Executive Director.


What you'll do:


Office Manager

  • Serves as office manager and as such negotiates yearly lease and ensures regular communication with office space management/leaser and shares any updates with the staff on these issues.
  • Plan and direct any office moves and/or rightsizing and offsite storage access.

Human Resources

  • Maintenance of appropriate personnel records; responsible for Department of Labor audits; ensure compliance with UNRWA USA policies and US labor law in the event of any disciplinary actions.
  • Primary point person for UNRWA USA benefits, including coordinating with the Director of Finance to ensure employees are signed up for health insurance and other benefits.
  • Working in collaboration with the Management Team, create job descriptions and oversee employee training programs.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop and implement staff evaluation parameters.

IT Management

  • Lead on UNRWA USA's IT and cybersecurity plan and efforts.
  • Oversee UNRWA USA's Salesforce instance and related integrations, working with vendors to ensure system optimization and ongoing maintenance.
  • Manage UNRWA USA's technology hardware/software procurement, inventory, maintenance, update processes, and training.

Insurance and licensure

  • Oversees the review and renewal of all insurance policies; ensures that UNRWA USA complies with mandatory and voluntary standards.

Policies and procedures

  • Conducts an annual review of financerelated policies and procedures for the organization and staff; ensures that all staff, consultants, and volunteers comply with them.

Legal

  • In close collaboration with the Executive Director, works to ensure that the organization is in compliance with rules and regulations governing the operations of the organization and is protected from legal liability, including implementing UNRWA USA's due diligence process.
  • Conducts staff training as needed.

Annual and Strategic Planning

  • Lead annual planning and budgeting process.
  • Support Executive Director on strategic plan development, execution, monitoring and evaluation.
  • Support Executive Director with Board administration.

  • You have a minimum of eight (8) years of overall professional experience, ideally at a management and operational level, and specifically with core experience in the development and/or humanitarian sectors.
  • You've proven multiyear experience as Director of Operations or equivalent position.
