    Job Overview

    The Senior Appliance Quality Engineer responsible for taking our Appliance products to the next level of quality, reliability, serviceability, and attribute leadership by using DFx tools and processes.

    We win, our channel partners win, and our customers win when our appliances are exceeding expectations. We want to design and manufacture appliances that lead the industry in appliance consumer appreciation.

    This position works closely with the Technology, Product Management, Reliability/Test Engineering, Consumer Care, Service, 3rd party logistics and other Quality teams on multiple activities in support of on-going product quality/ reliability improvement efforts.

    The Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for appliance and related manufacturing process quality compliance.

    This function applies strong technical expertise in appliance technology and quality tool knowledge to Keurig appliance development to assure that all requirements and specifications are fulfilled.

    This individual will have the ability to create and maintain product qualification documents used to evaluate new/ revised appliance compliance within company standards.

    The position requires knowledge of quality systems, statistical tools, lean six sigma methodologies, process capability, and understanding of control plans and process flow.

    Additionally, this person needs to apply strong spreadsheet-based knowledge to analyze test and field performance data and develop fact base summaries to be used as part of the business case required for appliances.

    This position would have responsibility for coordinating special projects when required, establishing process and testing strategy for these special projects.


    In this role you will:

    • Be the champion for Appliance Quality, Reliability and Serviceability attributes across the cross-functional organization, influencing the design and commercialization of our coffee appliances and accessories
    • Work closely with the Product, Engineering and Contract Manufacturer teams in support of identifying and correcting issues underlying customer complaints/returns.
    • Responsible for sustaining quality oversite various commercial brewer models
    • Work closely with Contract Manufacturers to ensure fixes are cut in timely and accurately.
    • Work closely with data analytics, internal testing, service, and customer care teams to assess reasons for replacements.
    • Perform Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) and ROI assessments to justify and prioritize corrective action improvements.
    • Lead quality review outbriefs to internal Senior leadership and external vendor teams.
    • Manage the relationship for quality between KDP and any 3rd parties in the supply chain.
    • Understand Voice of the Consumer and appliance use conditions to set appropriate program requirements/targets for reliability and serviceability.
    • Work with cross functional teams in defining mitigation plans for High-Risk Items found in the DFMEA.
    • Drive closure of major issues through systematic approach (CAPA/8D), RCA (fishbone diagram, 5 whys)
    • Define overall Serviceability and Warranty strategy for brewer programs, including defining access levels and markings, on appliance or in App instructions, field replacement units, Serviceability review plan, to drive attribute leadership across the portfolio.
    • Understand competitive and analogous offerings for state-of-the-art competitive products.
    • Align with key stakeholders, including distributors and internal commercial service team, to gain early buy-in and engagement on the journey with us.
    • Manage connected brewer network including, data reporting and connected user experience with respect to service and maintenance.
    • Up to 10% domestic and international travel required.

    Requirements

    • Bachelors in an Engineering field or equivalent related experience
    • 5 years' experience in support of development and production of consumer goods in a global setting are highly desired.
    • Experience in Quality, Manufacturing, New Product Development is preferred.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work in a cross functional team environment.
    • Previous experience in a consumer product quality role is highly desired.
    • Previous experience in data analytics and tools (i.e. SQL, Tableau) is highly desired.
    • Good working knowledge of statistical analysis and problem-solving tools
    • Experience with reverse logistics desired.
    • Experience coordinating hardware or software rework across global supply chain desired.
    • Familiarity with electronic/ electrical circuits and knowledge of controller /user interface applications are desirable.
    • Experienced with contract manufacturing and supplier quality management and auditing.
    • Effective interpersonal, communication, planning, problem solving, and organizational skills in a global environment.
    • Continuous improvement mindset
    • Self-motivated and experienced in dealing with ambiguity while performing critical project steps.
    • Self-driven to independently drive projects, perform hands-on tasks, and manage communication with internal/ external partners with minimal oversight.
    • Experienced in defining project prioritization and flexible to shift project focus upon business decisions.
    • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Visio and Power Point.
    • Familiarity with software packages such as JMP, SQL, Tableau, TrackWise, TeamCenter, Confluence, Jira, are desirable.
    • Experience with Design for Six Sigma- Green Belt Certified Preferred
    Demonstrated record of leading multiple projects while working with stakeholders across multiple functions
