The Opportunity

Job Title:
Information Technology (IT) Help Desk Technician Level I or II

General Summary
Entry-level position serving as the first point of contact for technical issues and requests from users. Also responsible for general day-to-day Help Desk tasks.

Under general supervision, learn and perform a variety of operational duties related to maintaining and supporting the Company's information technology systems.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with setup, configure, upgrade, and maintain laptops, desktops, and wireless devices
  • Assist in troubleshooting problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide enduser assistance where needed
  • Assist in developing and maintaining an inventory of all monitors, keyboards, hard drives, network devices and other components, and equipment
  • Assist in repairing and replacing equipment as necessary
  • Assist in testing and supporting new technology including GIS technology
  • Support IT Department for ongoing projects
  • Perform other jobrelated duties as required

Skills and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Windows operating system
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 36
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot computer hardware/software
  • Mathematical ability to calculate basic arithmetic problems without the aid of a calculator
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively convey ideas
  • Ability to effectively read and understand information contained in memos, reports, and bulletins
  • Ability to comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Time management skills needed to meet deadlines
  • Good judgment, dependability, adaptability, and punctuality
  • Valid California Class C driver's license with a good driving record

Physical Demands

  • Demonstrate sufficient dexterity of hands, arms, and fingers to be able to perform the principal responsibilities of the job to use required computer, tools, and equipment
  • Ability to bend, push, pull, and repeatedly lift up to 50lbs

Environment

  • Work will be performed in indoor and outdoor environments with exposure to environmental conditions
