    Job Title: Web Developer II

    Location-Type: Hybrid - Seattle,WA 3 days/week

    Start Date Is: 2-3 weeks from offer

    Duration: 3 month contract (Potential to extend/convert)

    Compensation Range: $35-$49/hr

    Summary:

    Our client is seeking a skilled Web Developer II to join their External Payment Services group on a contractual basis. In this role, you'll be responsible for developing the next-generation payments website using HTML/XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript. This position requires a candidate experienced in graphic design tools like Photoshop and Illustrator, with strong skills in converting design mockups into cross-browser compatible code.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Utilize design software to create mockups and HTML prototypes for new features.
    • Build static and dynamic web pages from these mockups and specifications.
    • Develop and maintain CSS styles and frameworks.
    • Ensure customer-facing features comply with style requirements.
    • Write dynamic front-end code using HTML/CSS and JavaScript.
    • Test and troubleshoot site presentation across multiple browsers.
    • Develop optimized, cross-platform code in CSS/XHTML and JavaScript.
    • Create functional prototypes to validate concepts and support usability testing.
    • Collaborate with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and researchers to improve the user experience.
    • Provide a proven portfolio demonstrating these skills.

    Must-Have Qualifications:

    • 2-4 years of experience in front-end web development.
    • Advanced knowledge of HTML/XHTML coding practices.
    • Advanced proficiency in CSS for content styling and layout.
    • Experience with browser rendering and cross-browser compatibility issues.
    • Ability to work in a Linux environment.
    • Skilled in a major design application (Photoshop or Fireworks).
    • Strong JavaScript skills to add behaviors to static pages.
    • Semantic coding with CSS/XHTML.

    Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

    • Experience in user interface design and diagramming.
    • Understanding of JavaScript to enhance dynamic page behaviors.
