Natural Lands, a vibrant, regional, nonprofit organization and leader in land conservation, natural resource stewardship, and public engagement, seeks a Digital Media Specialist to join our team at our headquarters on the Hildacy Preserve in Media, Pennsylvania.


Since the early 1950s, Natural Lands has saved open space, cared for nature, and connected people to the outdoors in eastern Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey.

Today, the organization is one of the nation's largest regional land conservancies and is widely respected for its record of success, technical expertise, respectful and creative approach to partnerships, fiscal strength, and integrity.


Over the course of its nearly 70-year history, Natural Lands has helped preserve more than 135,000 acres including a network of 42 nature preserves and one public garden across two states and 13 counties.

These properties total 23,000 acres and include many of the most spectacular and diverse properties in the region, which are enjoyed by more than 300,000 visitors annually.

Job Summary:


The Digital Media Specialist will work under the guidance of the Senior Director of Communications to boost Natural Lands' brand identity and promote brand awareness through digital media.

This position will use our multiple websites, social media platforms, blogs, and third-party platforms to build meaningful connections with Natural Lands friends and followers.


Responsibilities:


  • Works closely with colleagues to develop a strategy for integrated media campaigns.
  • Coordinates with teams across the organization to understand the impact of their work and their digital promotion needs.
  • Creates digital content—written, photographic, and video.
  • Schedules placement of content on digital media platforms, coordinates with colleagues and volunteers who assist with content creation.
  • Manages the organizations' websites.
  • Utilizes Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to measure and report on website performance, using this data to drive strategy decisions.
  • Writes content for search engine optimization.
  • Ensures the organization is visually portrayed to a high standard on platforms such as Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, and TikTok.
  • Ensures brand consistency across all digital media channels and uses performance analytics to drive strategy decisions.
  • Moderates social media comments when necessary and monitors Natural Lands' presence on thirdparty platforms such as Yelp, Google reviews, Wikipedia, GuideStar, AllTrails, and Charity Navigator.
  • Follows the latest digital media developments and trends of marketing campaigns for digital platforms.
  • Monitors impact and return on investment of digital marketing and advertising campaigns.
  • Remains uptodate with the latest digital media trends and design technology available.
  • Contributes as a valued member of the Communications and Engagement team; coordinates efforts with other staff.
  • Bachelor's degree in digital media, marketing, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in digital marketing.
  • Knowledge of web design and WordPress, or other content management systems.
  • Proficiency with Hootsuite scheduling software.
  • Advanced experience with web analytic tools such as Google Ads and GA
  • Familiarity with paid social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
  • Solid knowledge of design and editing programs such as Photoshop.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in photography or videography skills.
  • Knowledge of the latest media trends.
  • Basic budgeting skills to reconcile paid digital media placements with the available budget.
  • Organized, selfdriven, creative, and innovative. A passion for the environment and for Natural Lands' mission.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:


This is an office-based position, requiring frequent sitting for long periods, with occasional periods of walking, standing, bending, and reaching.

The position requires use of the computer and the telephone and sometimes handling large binders or file boxes. This position requires the ability to reach, pull, lift, and carry 20-35 pounds, walk, and stand on uneven terrain. A reliable vehicle and valid driver's license are required fo
