Posting Summary

  • Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Assistant for the department of Medicine at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

The Research Assistant will be trained and work within an existing recruiting infrastructure to help the Principal Investigator and staff recruit South Asian and non-South Asian older adults for survey-based and in-person cognition research.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Performing and assisting with various forms of virtual and face-to-face community outreach activities, including seminars and webinars, town halls, health screenings, and various community events. This includes the identification of community events.
  • Identifying communitybased organizations (CBOs), community leaders, and gatekeepers that may be beneficial in recruitment efforts. This included making introductions when possible and facilitating meeting between identified entities and the Director of Community Outreach.
  • Assisting with social media platforms, including the management of personal accounts for the sharing of study and IFHrelated marketing, promotion, and recruitment.
  • Performing doortodoor canvassing within assigned geographic boundaries. Canvassing included presenting and educating the potential participant(s) about the study, study objectives, protocols, responsibilities, and compensation.
  • Determining interest in study participation, following study protocols and training to answer questions and overcome objectives or hesitation.
  • Administering consent for all required components of the study both electronically and in writing in compliance with study protocols. Explained each section of consent to ensure understanding, answering any questions in compliance with study protocols.
