The Cathedral School STEAM Camp welcomes rising Kindergarten to Grade 6 students. Campers are immersed in hands-on projects focused on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math. Our STEAM Camp sparks creativity, inspires collaboration, and promotes critical thinking and perseverance through maker-centered learning.

The STEAM Camp Physical Activities Teacher will be employed for four weeks at the Cathedral School STEAM Camp. The Teacher leads camp indoor/outdoor games and activities to ensure that children have a fun, well-rounded experience.

Background and Required Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree required
  • Must have at least three years of lead teaching experience and demonstrate familiarity with a range of structured outdoor games and activities appropriate for camp
  • Possesses good leadership abilities, management and organizational skills
  • Ability to create a fun, positive, encouraging class environment
  • Ensures the safety and wellbeing of each child
  • CPR/First Aid Training preferrable
***Responsibilities and Duties

  • Plan, prepare, set up, and break down activities daily, including the Aqua Zone
  • Meets and instructs the campers at the designated time
  • Supervise campers during outdoor activities and noninstructional time, which may include lunch, recess, and extended day periods
  • Mentor and guide STEAM camp counselors, ensuring that they embrace and model all camp mission, policies, and guidelines
  • Use effective classroom management skills to lead activities and effectively create an inclusive and fun environment
  • Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
Camp Dates and Hours

  • Camp dates are from Monday, July 8, 2024 to Friday, August 2, 202
  • Camp orientation and prep days are Tuesday, July 2 and Wednesday, July 3 (optional)
  • Camp hours are from 8:00 am 5:00 pm split between morning and afternoon shifts. Camp teaching hours are from 9:00 am 3:00 pm.
***Compensation

  • Salary starts at $35 per hour.
