Essential Functions:This position is a safety sensitive position.

  • Complete safety audits for all Heidler jobsites. Utilize the Safety Reports App for daily reports. Reports will be sent to the Safety Director, Supers, PM, Pres, and put in the job file.
  • Perform followup inspections to verify corrections of safety infractions are completed. Provide employee writeups, if needed, to the safety director. The expectation is that 78 visits would be conducted a week.
  • Assist with improving the safety environment by teaching classes, advising on safety procedures, new safety products, and revising work procedures. Coordinate with Safety Director and Heidler President to ensure all personnel have appropriate training.
  • Attends the various project safety meetings as required.
  • Aids in the process of setting up projects by attending preconstruction meetings and completing the safety plan for the job that is consistent with corporate safety procedures.
  • Perform investigative research of close call incidents and possible means to eliminate or reduce the hazard. Investigates incidents and file reports on the APP. Coordinates with the Safety Director and sends the completed report to the Safety Director.
  • Assists in the distribution of weekly toolbox talks. Performs weekly safety talks on each jobsite with the crew. Have the crew sign off on each week's talk.
  • Prepare JSAs, AHA's, JSSP's or ASAs when requested by customers.
  • Prepare job site specific safety plans.
  • Prepare job site specific crane plans.
  • Other duties as assigned as they come up. Like handing out background papers, delivering tshirts, delivering stuff to field guys, etc.
  • Communicate any incident, injury, or claim directly to the Director of Safety and collaborate on investigation, reporting to insurance, and remedial actions.
  • Work hours should closely mimic field crew work hours.
  • Help facilitate monthly crew meetings at the shop.
  • Ensure field employees are equipped with the proper PPE required to do their jobs safety and manager and safety inventory. Orders should be managed through the Safety Director.
  • Supply water and or refreshments, supply shade equipment and fans during hot weather to crews.
  • Performing random drug tests as scheduled.
  • Conduct safety training sessions and creates initiatives to reduce and prevent accidents on site.
  • Identify employee causation trends and mitigating options for reducing injuries.
  • Attend all operations meetings.

Work Environment
This job operates in two environments. The first is a professional office and "open cubicle" environment. The use of computers, printers, telephones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets

and fax machines is required.

The second is working on/in various construction sites, food production facilities, commercial business sites, commercial warehouse sites, religious facilities, and public/private educational facilities.

Functions can take place indoors or outdoors, sometimes in high, precarious places with fumes and/or airborne particles. The standard jobsite environment has loud to very loud noise levels associated with various equipment, coworkers and phone conversations. Various jobsites are located in high and/or cramped workspaces and work is performed around hazardous situations, materials and equipment.
