CIS Int'l Holdings (N.A) Corp. is a Livestock Breeder, Wholesale Importer & Distributor of Fresh & Salt Water Live Tropical Fish, Aquatic Wood, Aquatic Plants, Live Rock & any many ornamental fish accessories.


We are looking for a Husbandry Manager that must possess the ability to resolve problems involving multiple variables in a fast paced environment.

The Manager ensures the highest level of customer satisfaction through a commitment to providing high quality and healthy livestock. This position involves supervision of all husbandry staff, care of livestock, and maintenance mechanical systems in the facility.


Essential Job Functions

  • Review daily water chemistry reporting and make corrections or adjustments as needed for all systems in the facility.
  • Ensure water filtration, heating, cooling, and lighting systems are working properly.
  • Oversee husbandry of all animals, which include fish, coral, and invertebrates to ensure their safety and well-being in the facility each day.
  • Oversee and work with husbandry and warehouse staff to set weekly and monthly goals.
  • Ensure shipping is completed accurately and on time.
  • Oversee the acclimation and safe positioning of all inbound livestock to "best practice standards" developed and documented in operations procedures provided during training.
  • Oversee the transfer and relocation of livestock in the warehouse prior to the arrival of inbound shipments. Ensure high volume items are replenished quickly.
  • Maintain open and professional communication with departments that interface with the husbandry team.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of animal care including diets, water quality and life support systems.
  • Assist in the training of other team members on all husbandry related topics including on in-house animal care, pack out and acclimation.
  • Manage all documentation, analyzation, and submission of all necessary husbandry reports for daily operations, including disease diagnosis/treatment, shipment arrival feedback and critical water quality parameters.

Other Duties and Responsibilities
Assist with scheduling and accommodation of heavy outbound and inbound shipping and receiving days.

Assist with planning and executing acclimation of inbound shipments, holding and movement strategies through quarantine and main holding systems.

Assess daily, weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance needs for both livestock and equipment and plan accordingly.

Oversee and ensure filtration equipment is operating at maximum efficiency and troubleshoot equipment failures and degradation.

Ensure cleanliness of the Coral Farm and livestock holding systems.

Make final decisions on health of livestock being shipped.


Determine and implement packaging adjustments based on the ambient weather conditions by upsizing bag and box sizes during periods of inclement weather conditions.

Must have a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends due to varying inbound shipments and other live animal demands.

Education/Experience

Associate degree in a related field and or equivalent work experience, bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences preferred.

Knowledge of aquarium husbandry. Basic computer knowledge, usage and terminology are desired.

Previous aquatic animal observation/husbandry with proficient data recording skills.

Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).


Must display the ability to read and write messages and verbally communicate well to fellow workers and supervisors in the English language.

Commercial/aquaculture recirculating system experience is a plus


Pay:
$ $20.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
