Facilities Property Manager

We provide a broad spectrum of services to victims of domestic violence, while working with professionals in the field on education, research and advocacy with the goal of ending domestic violence._

Job Summary:

The Facilities Manager is responsible for excellence in overall maintenance and upkeep of all Sojourner Center properties, including Facilities Department management, preventive maintenance planning and oversight, project management and coordination of all facilities maintenance and repair, and construction projects.

Verifies that all safety inspections are completed on schedule and promotes measures to ensure that the staff and premises are meeting all required safety and compliance standards
.



Essential Functions:


  • Supervises Facilities personnel, providing support, guidance and resources in the pursuit of asset stewardship. Ensures compliance throughout all facilities including inspections and licensing. Oversees timely and high quality repairs.
  • Oversees the effective accomplishment of preventive maintenance and custodian responsibilities, providing support, guidance and resources for Facilities personnel; utilizes database tools for the planning and monitoring of the preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Honors all regulatory standards and contract obligations for the maintenance of facilities.
  • Operates the facilities department within the budgeted parameters approved by the board of directors; reviews budgets and plans with the Director of Support Services
  • Coordinates efforts with the Director of Community Engagement for the effective utilization of volunteers in preventative maintenance, repairs, and projects, both in groups and individual projects.
  • Plans and implements the steps involved in small to large-scale projects; obtains permits as required; attends construction meetings; communicates with contractors and vendors.
  • Acts as a liaison to programs to ensure that staff are aware of upcoming facility related projects, coordinates with programs to assure safety and prepares for inconveniences to Participant lives; works closely with other departments within Sojourner Center to promote knowledge of safety and compliance measures within each department.
  • Securely stores and retrieves all documentation involving pest control, fire inspections, etc. conducts monthly fire extinguisher checks.
  • Continuously ensures that all necessary safety supplies are stocked at all locations; responsible for disposal of medications, room inspections, permits, etc.
  • Assists in the drafting of and updates to policies related to safety and compliance.
  • Ensures companywide compliance with ADA/OSHA/SDS/GHS. Completes monthly checklists.
  • Assists with auditing incident reports and implementing appropriate measures to prevent further incidents; tracks and coordinates required trainings.

Schedule:
Some weekends and evenings may be required.


Positions Available: 1 (Monday - Friday, weekends/evenings as needed. (Holds On-Call Rotation)


Rate of Pay:
$50,000.00/Annually


Education, Experience, and Other Requirements:


  • 3+ years in facilities/safety/compliance management and 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • High School or equivalent plus specialized training.
  • Experience in the following areas preferred: family violence programs or with homeless populations.
  • Valid Arizona Driver License, proof of automobile insurance and Motor Vehicle Record acceptable to Sojourner Center's insurance company.
  • Ability to obtain a Level I Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Physical Factors/Working Conditions:


  • Ability to work in both indoor and outside environments.
  • Requires the use of a computer and other standard office equipment.
  • Requires rotational oncall duties (evenings/weekends) and travel between work locations; work days/hours may change, depending on needs.
  • Must be able to engage in a level of physical activity to lift at least 50 lbs and safely work on ladders and roofs, and have the mobility to perform assigned tasks.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and kneel for long periods of time and access and work in confined spaces such as an attic.
  • Must be able use hand, power and specialty tools and equipment.
  • May be exposed to infectious diseases and must use Universal Precautions.
