Under the direction of the Facilities and Yard Manager, the Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for the appearance, cleanliness, safety, and functionality of the LUS buildings and grounds; responds to emerging maintenance needs and conducts daily monitoring to ensure facility needs are met and maintained in a safe and efficient manner; may be assigned to coordinate major projects relating to buildings and grounds; conducts preventative maintenance activities and works with vendors as directed; responsible working together professionally with both internal and external customers.


Responsibilities:


  • Evaluate maintenance requests, set priorities, and process work assignments.
  • Establishes and maintains a reliable network of outside vendors and suppliers to ensure cost effective and timely support of the maintenance function.
  • Interacts with contractors or subcontractors to perform maintenance work.
  • Performs routine inspections of all systems and equipment.
  • Perform routine repair work and other work of a general maintenance nature.
  • Ensures that all LUS policies and procedures are followed related to the performance of the maintenance function.
  • Work together professionally in a team environment with coworkers and other department personnel.
  • Monitor and analyze PM reports, work orders, and technician feedback to optimize effective and efficient PM procedures, planning, and scheduling.
  • Respond in a timely manner to all requests and concerns through the maintenance log either on paper or electronically.
  • Make daily and weekly walks of the building interior and exterior to check for problems.
  • Supports 6S implementation and sustainability.
  • Supports safety team with implementation of safety requirements.

Competencies:

-
Education and Experience:High school diploma or general education degree (GED); with one to three years' experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Knowledge of standard shop practices.
  • Ability to coordinate with facilities manager to solve problems.
  • Ability to work independently and with other Liebherr divisions to achieve common goals.
  • Ability to operate heavy machinery.
  • Adapts to changes in the work environment; Manages competing demands; Changes approach or method to best fit the situation; Able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
  • Ability to use all types of inspection equipment and precision measurement devices.
  • Ability to maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
