TE Connectivity's Quality and Reliability Engineering Teams analyze the ability of product and production systems to comply with customer and contractual requirements through established reliability factors.

They design, recommend revisions, and install quality control systems, develop, and document analytical methods for establishing the reliability of products and their components, and conduct analysis on relative reliability about cost, structure, weight, maintainability, facility of production, and availability of materials and equipment.

Our teams develop, implement, and monitor company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations and recommend corrective actions if necessary.

They are responsible for policies and practices to comply with applicable government regulations and industry requirements related to product environmental compliance, the implementation and management of technical and testing standards and specifications, quality control and reliability programs governing materials, products, and processes, resulting in the optimization of material and labor, as well as failure analysis, root cause, corrective action, and customer communication.


Responsibilities:


  • The Plant Quality Manager is responsible for developing, documenting, implementing, and managing the quality management system for the subbusiness unit.
  • Set the tone for a "Zero Defect Culture" and deployment of continuous improvement/lean as the engine of delivering consistent and reliable operational performance.
  • Deploy structured problemsolving techniques to identify root causes and corrective actions.
  • Actively partner to drive TE Operating Advantage as one of the de facto TEOA Champions at the leadership team.
  • Customer Quality: Interfaces where necessary directly with key customers to ensure ECE related to Product and Process Quality QC Inspection: Arranges for QC inspection of products, at the factories, both incoming and outgoing.
  • Alternatively, develop and deploy effective AQL procedures via DQIP plan and process audits.
  • Complaint Handling: Response to customer complaints (RMAs) that are received and recorded via the TECH's (TE system). Investigate complaints and take appropriate action. Ensures qualitative and timely resolution of issues and drives overall levels of complaints down systematically.
  • Actively engages in the ADM QPL Committee to help refine the process excellence related to QPL Compliance related to Mil-Spec Products for Government Agencies (DLA, Navair, etc.).
  • Build capabilities of the broader team. Ensure robust succession plans and talent pipelines to identify and develop bench strength to fill future leadership roles.
  • Reports to the TE Mt Joy Plant Manager and a dotted line reporting to the Regional Sr. Quality Manager.
  • Single Point Accountable for Quality Hold inventory, ensuring disposition and disposal of nonconforming products and RCCA to prevent recurrence.

What your background should look like:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or quality discipline. A graduate degree is desired, but not essential.
  • Minimum 15 years of quality management experience in a discrete manufacturing company. Familiarity with Aerospace products markets is a plus.
  • 5 years of global leadership experience is a plus.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the TE ADM business unit and the Connectors Plant Groups by building relationships through active engagement and discussions with stakeholders.
  • Ability to support Connectors Executive Staff to operationalize the strategy related to the Global Quality organization and execution of strategic and operational initiatives.
  • Build Effective Teams: Creates and communicates standards and mission.
  • Drive for Results: Displays initiative, prioritizes time, and resources, seeks solutions and outcomes.
  • Excellent planning and organizing skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization, with the competency and tenacity to achieve results without formal authority.
  • Structured problemsolving skills and experience.
  • Language skills: Must have fluency in English. Foreign language skills are a plus (Spanish).
  • Travel Requirements: Up to 15% (domestic and international)
