- Professional experience includes work/occupational and or teaching experience. Occupational (work) experience does NOT include teaching experience. Part-time experience within each category (Professional or Occupational) will be calculated toward the total required years of full-time equivalent experience in that particular category.

We are now accepting applications for the Noncredit Instructor Applicant Pool. Noncredit instructor pools are open on a fiscal year basis for continuous recruitment for department assignments. Please review application material requirements carefully to ensure successful submission. Your application will not be considered until all required documents are received.The teaching assignment may be at the Valencia or Canyon Country campus, or other college teaching locations. Part-time faculty positions are as needed positions and do not accrue rights to tenure. Part-time faculty positions offer flexible hours and the opportunity to assist a diverse group of students in achieving their educational goals. We offer a wide range of opportunities in transfer, general education, vocational and occupational programs.
College of the Canyons began offering face-to-face courses to our justice-involved (Rising Scholars) students in the Fall semester of 2015, with the passing of Senate Bill 1391.
Courses will be taught onsite at Pitchess Detention Center (P.D.C.) and/or the Century Regional Detention Facility (C.R.D.F.).
Must be available to teach Monday through Thursday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. onsite at the assigned location(s).Example of Duties
College of the Canyons is seeking noncredit instructor faculty members in Noncredit - Anger Management & Domestic Violence (Rising Scholars). Applications will be considered for immediate and future eligibility into the Noncredit - Anger Management & Domestic Violence (Rising Scholars) Instructor Applicant Pool.
We are accepting applications on an on-going basis for future consideration into the Applicant Pool. When no review date is listed for an Adjunct Instructor position, the position is open until filled. Your application will not be considered until all required documents have been received.
Service
Possession of an unexpired California Community College Instructor Credential in the appropriate discipline;
OR - Master's degree in counseling, psychology or sociology
OR - Bachelor's degree; and two years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught
OR - Associate degree; and six years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught
OR - Bachelor's degree in health science, health education, biology, nursing, dietetics, or nutrition; or an associate degree in any of those subjects, and four years of professional experience related to the subject of the course taught.
