Job Purpose:

The role holder is responsible for the safety, reliability, security and integrity of the underground electric distribution system through the daily supervision and organization of operations personnel in order to complete job tasks while complying with Company, departmental and Regulatory policies, procedures and statutory requirements.

Supervises internal personnel to assure the timely and cost effective completion of work within the area of responsibility.

Provides emergency response and supervision of personnel engaged in a 24 hour, 7 day per week operation.

Key Accountabilities:

Supervise both internal and contracted personnel
to assure the timely and costeffective completion of work within the area of responsibility.
Supervise a culturally diverse workforce through coaching, counselling and team building to ensure tasks are carried out efficiently.
Oversee the operational workload of team to ensure allocated resources are fully utilized to deliver against agreed upon work plan and execute work activities within planned unit and budget cost.
Ensure supervised teams comply with safety standards, policies and processes to ensure a safe working environment and minimize risk for all staff.
Review, ensure accuracy and execute the approval of area purchase orders, invoices and payroll activities.
Build good working relationships with internal external customers and manage the daytoday relationship with them to understand their requirements and deliver appropriate solutions.
Monitor performance of allocated staff including issues relating to sickness, discipline and poor standards of work to ensure that work is performed efficiently and effectively

**Supervisory/Interpersonal

Experience Required**:
Experience of leading a team involved in field operations activities is preferred.
Encourages and empowers others by offering help and advice, and building a common understanding of needs and shared goals.
Ability to build good working relationships with internal and external customers.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related area or a two year degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Technology or Electric Construction/Maintenance from an accredited college or university and/or 35+ years of related experience
Valid driver's license required.
Requires a thorough knowledge of all rules related to underground line construction including OSHA
Ability and knowledge of standard operating procedures for field personnel to perform underground work on underground distribution/subtransmission facilities is preferred.
Ability to accurately interpret maps, specification sheets, prints, schematics, diagrams and instructional information to construct, maintain and troubleshoot effectively.
Must have, or possess the ability to develop a working knowledge of information systems critical to the work management, financial reporting and performance tracking of the designated area.
Ability to perform offhour coverage and oncall rotations and to provide sound decisionmaking during emergency situations. This position sometimes requires travel outside the division for emergency assignments.
Committed to 'on the job' training programs with practical experience of underground work methods and underground electric operating procedures relevant to area or discipline
Must have demonstrated or possess the skills to build effective, respectful, working relationships. Identifies the key stakeholders in the organization and uses that information and the informal organizational structure to get things done within the Operational area.
Within own Operational area, demands high performance and makes the consequences of nonperformance clear.
