Your mission:


  • Maintain and expand our internal collection of fungal strains
  • Prepare inoculum and oversee seed lines for fermentation experiments
  • Prepare necessary media and precultures for various research and development projects
  • Set up reactors and fermenters for trials at both laboratory and pilot scales
  • Collect and analyze samples from fermentation trials to gain insights and improve processes
  • Write, review, and update standard operating procedures to ensure consistent and reproducible workflows
  • Assist with maintenance and repair of laboratory equipment

Your profile:


  • Training as a Biotechnology Assistant or Bachelor's degree in Bioengineering, Process Engineering, or a related field
  • 6+ years of experience working in a laboratory and pilot plant environment
  • 4+ years of experience conducting fermentation and biocatalysis trials at different scales
  • Handson, adaptable, and practical mindset
  • Familiarity with analytical techniques such as UVvis, HPLC, GC-MS, and cell dry weight measurement
  • Knowledge of general safety guidelines and protocols for working in a biological and chemical laboratory
  • Strong team player with a problemsolving attitude
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and other labspecific software
  • Fluent in English and German
