    General Summary:


    The Manning College of Nursing and Health Sciences (MCNHS) Working Agreements Specialist support the process of placing students in clinical/internship learning experiences for all programs in the college with the specific area of responsibility of executing working agreements with agencies, in which faculty teach and students engage in experiential clinical and internship activities and coordinating internship placements for the Exercise & Health Sciences program.


    The working agreements are negotiated in collaboration with internship and clinical partners to establish or maintain valued partnerships for student clinical experiences.

    The staff member works directly with all MCNHS program directors and Clinical Placement Specialists in assessing, planning, and implementing students' clinical placements, internships and educational experiences.

    The Working Agreements Specialist will interact daily with the Clinical and Internship Placement Office (CIPO) and will report directly to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.

    The Working Agreements Specialist will ensure that agreements between the University and clinical placement agencies are completed in a timely manner and ensure that students are in compliance with working agreement stipulations regarding clinical clearance requirements.

    Working Agreement Specialist will collaborate with administration, faculty, and program directors and assistants to develop and maintain processes to ensure accurate agency placement details.


    Examples of Duties:

    • Establish and maintain all MCNHS external agency working agreements/Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) for clinical and internship placement: send out standard working agreement/MOU to new external agencies; track the progress of the negotiating and signing of the working agreements/MOU; notify program directors, program assistants, and placement specialists to the status of the working agreement and of any agreed upon stipulations which exceed our standard requirements.
    • Negotiate working agreement language on matters of indemnification, governing laws, FERPA acknowledgement, and insurance limits; involve the university attorneys, the Associate Dean, and/or program directors when needed to assist in the completion of the working agreement/MOU.
    • Report all contractual and clinical/internship information, including but not limited to health, CORI, agency evaluations, clinical incidents and other required public information to the MCNHS Dean for internal annual reports and to clinical, state and regulatory agencies, as required for licensing or accreditation.
    • Maintain a comprehensive database of both current and expired agreements and ensure that data entered in this database regarding student placement and contact information is constantly updated and accurate.
    • Represent the College professionally in communication with internship and clinical partners; collaboration including but not limited to large parent organizations, community-based facilities, public service departments and their respective attorneys, legal teams, healthcare professionals, and clinical coordinators.
    • As requested by the Associate Dean, participate in MCNHS administrative leadership meetings and external meetings with clinical agencies, Program Directors, and Program Assistants, or other key personnel.
    • Support the EHS Internship Director to Identify internship placement opportunities for the Exercise & Health Sciences program and to facilitate and maintain partnerships with organizations in the Exercise & Health Sciences field.
    • Coordinate processes, timeline, tracking placements and progress toward preparation for placement.
    • Communicate and meet with student and internship partners regarding student's placements, including information sessions with the students and placement meetings.
    • Maintain records regarding Exercise & Health Sciences internship placements.
    • Collaborate with other CIPO staff on occasion to collect, maintain and record student and faculty information about clinical clearances, including but not limited to Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) permission, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), current health requirements, health insurance and agency-specific clearance requirements in MCNHS databases and files to assist and advise the MCNHS Dean, Associate Dean and Program Directors regarding collegiate policies and practices that will facilitate successful clinical placements for students.
    • Administer National Background and Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) checks for faculty and students in the Department of Exercise and Health Sciences; ensure that students and instructional faculty comply with prerequisite conditions for giving approval for such checks.
    • Advise Program Directors on the results of the background checks and follow-up with Program Directors to ensure that all background checks and follow-up communication are performed in a timely manner.
    • Maintain currency of the Clinical and Internship Placement Office (CIPO) Practice Manual and serve as liaison to the college webmaster to maintain accuracy of CIPO website content and functionality.
    • Assist as needed with National Background and CORI checks for the students in MCNHS; ensure that the students comply with all prerequisite conditions for internship clearances.
    • Collaborate with staff members to support various office programs, including Research Day, Open House, Commencement and other informational orientation sessions.
    • Provide for cross functional support during peak periods of activity.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.


    Qualifications:


    • Bachelor's degree is required. Ability to be National Background and CORI cleared is required.

    Qualifications:


    • One-three years of work experience in healthcare and/or with negotiating working agreements and/or management of business affiliations is strongly preferred.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and other software systems.
    • Ability to analyze data and other information utilizing and maintaining spreadsheets and databases.
    • Ability to access and enter data from information management systems and student information systems accurately.
    • Ability to work in a highly collaborative setting, with diverse constituencies.
    • Ability to effectively and efficiently work in a team capacity with a broad range of staff to accomplish departmental and program goals.
    • Strong organizational skills and interpersonal skills, including the capacity to work cooperatively with a wide range of individuals.
    • Ability to prepare written reports, correspondence and recommendations.
    • Ability to work independently and efficiently.
    • Ability to work under pressure and under timeframes.
    • Ability to handle confidential material.
    • Ability to understand the various requirements of licensure for various online nursing programs.
    • Ability to handle multiple projects at the same time.
    • Ability to supervise the work of work-study students.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Strong commitment to customer service.
