    This position is 95% Travel. Safety experience needed.

    Responsibilities


    As a Safety Manager, you are responsible for providing safety leadership, ensuring operational compliance with safety standards, implementing safety directives, assisting management to improve safety performance, and helping align safety policies and procedures with regulations.

    • Collaborate with Assigned market Teams, Safety Teams, and

    Local Leaders:

    Work directly with assigned PM /CM , Safety teams, and local leaders to identify leading indicators, initiate corrective actions, and identify potential training improvements related to Workers' Compensation (WC), Utility Hits, Motor Vehicle Incidents, Property, General Liability (GL), and regulatory compliance.


    • Weekly Market Metrics and

    Hazard Mitigation:

    Participate and lead discussions on weekly market metrics, mitigate hazards, conduct incident root cause investigations, and assist operations with pre-job planning.


    • Resource for

    Market Employees:

    Serve as a resource to employees and GC crews regarding customer specifications, OSHA regulations, ANSI standards, and MNS safety policies.

    Support the Market Operations Construction Team and Field crews.

    • Critical Certifications Oversight: Review and verify required critical certifications for field members and General Contractors.
    • Safety Management System Oversight: Oversee, communicate, and evaluate the success of JHA, SSO, driver scorecard, Donesafe system, etc...
    • Pro-active Communication: Implement, interact, and maintain proactive communication with Market Operations and Regional/Corporate Safety.
    • Training and Development: Periodically conduct and participate in training as directed by the Training Division. Provide insights to the training team for program revisions, practical training modules, and methodology. Conduct random jobsite visits, build reports, and coach crews utilizing Site Safety Observations.
    • Customer Safety : Interact and respond to customer safety department needs regarding safety and training issues. Research and submit corrective action plans. Provide assistance and support to Customer, State, and Federal entities during inspections, inquiries, or corrective action initiatives.
    • Claims Process Training: Ensure market field leadership and their teams are adequately trained in the claims process. Other duties as assigned, approved by Operations, HR, and Executive Teams.

    In addition, you will:

    • Related degree, preferably in Construction Management or Safety.
    • Minimum five (3-5) years of Wireless / Wireline Construction Safety experience (Preferred).
    • Develop and support the creation of a strategy of safety and compliance strategic goals
    • Ensure site management has the appropriate activity-based goals for the leadership team, managers, and supervisors, to drive the safety culture, compliance, and results
    • Supervise, lead, and mentor company-wide safety and compliance support staff
    • Develop effective safety and compliance programs and policies designed to meet operational goals to reduce injuries and incidents
    • Communicate safety and compliance strategy and objectives to leadership
    • Support site management in the implementation of safety and compliance programs or policies
    • Design and implement effective metrics to track progress, proactively identify areas of concern, and drive accountability
    • Design and execute an effective Occupational, Health & Safety Management System
    • Liaise with external vendors to manage hazardous waste hotline, SDS system, waste collection, and disposal program
    • Develop and implement audit tracks and identify gaps in local compliance with corporate safety policies and procedures
    • Lead or direct incident investigation process, including root cause analysis and identification of corrective action plans
    • Facilitate supervisor and management training on root cause analysis
    • Assist site management in ensuring compliance with all regulatory agencies
    • Monitor, interpret and communicate regulatory changes to management
    • Display strong problem-solving skills, organizational skills, and analytical skills
    • Demonstrate professional maturity and ability to act as a change leader
    • Identify best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work process risks, raise safety awareness, and improve safe work practices
    • Provide technical advice, coaching, guidance, and mentoring to employees on safety initiatives and necessary changes
    • Perform other duties as required and/or assigned

    • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Able to read and understand maps, drawings, and diagrams for projects plans
    • Able to think strategically and provide strong leadership
    • Possess strong knowledge of applicable regulations
    • Able to maintain confidentiality
