Overview:
Mesa Public Schools is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Institutional Research Associate to join our team.

Focusing on ground-level data collection and monitoring, the Specialist will collaborate with department, district, and school level leadership by contributing to the monitoring and evaluation of district programs and assisting in the creation of institutional reports, surveys, and dashboards.

This position involves analyzing data, preparing reports, providing front-line support for data requests, and supporting continuous school improvement initiatives, making the role an integral part of our commitment to evidence-based decision-making and educational excellence.


Base Salary:

***$58,580


Performance Pay:

Available annually


New hire experience:

1% of the base hourly rate granted for each year of verified like experience (within ten years) beyond the requirement, up to a five-year maximum


New hire education:

1% of the base hourly rate awarded for an AA or higher degree if not required for the position


Class/Calendar:

C52, 12 months

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 1 year professional experience/exposure to a K12 educational system

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Data Analytics, Education, STEM, or a related field, preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS (KSAO)

  • Knowledge of Federal educational programs such as Title I, Special Education, Medicaid, etc.
  • Experience in data collection and analysis through methods such as surveys, interviews, and focus groups
  • Experience with statistical software tools is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
  • Experience with data visualization tools including Power BI
  • Experience with survey development and administration in Qualtrics and/or other survey platforms
  • Be able to read across and summarize multiple sources of educational information, such as journals, federal or state reports, etc.
  • Familiarity with ThrillShare and AwesomeTable is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with attention to detail

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Create, administer, and analyze key surveys utilizing tools such as Qualtrics or PowerBI
  • Collaborate and work on projects/tasks within the Research and Evaluation department as a whole
  • Complete data requests and collaborate with district employees and/or external parties as assigned
  • Support accountability initiatives, comparability analysis, Title I, and other programs for the district as assigned
  • Support the monitoring and evaluation of district initiatives, including groundlevel data collection within Mesa Public Schools
  • Manage development and maintenance of the department websites, both public and intranet
  • Process and/or prepare documents and materials to disseminate information in compliance with department/program, district, state, and/or federal regulations
  • Foster a continuous learning, professional development, and growth mindset amongst team members
  • Maintain department procedures and policies in alignment with district, state, and federal statutes and regulations
  • Produce documentation to ensure consistency, quality, and transparency across the district
  • Prepare various reports for professional, technical, and nontechnical audiences to provide and/or convey information
  • Perform other duties as assigned
