Litigation Paralegal - Washington, United States - Oppenheim + Zebrak, LLP
Description
The position requires someone who is organized, confident, able to work independently, and who has a positive "can do" attitude.
Strong computer skills are a must (see Qualifications), as are excellent written and verbal communication skills. Previous experience as a paralegal or other legal field is desired.
Job duties are diverse and include investigating and conducting research to support legal proceedings, drafting and reviewing legal documents, developing, organizing, and supporting cases, both pre-litigation and during litigation.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in administrative duties as needed
- Correspond with clients, banks, and other federal and local government institutions
- Attend to docket notifications for each of the ongoing cases
- Manage scheduling for deadlines, depositions, meetings, and travel
- Group, organize, and review prelitigation documents and exhibits for witnesses
- Create letters, memos, and various documents as needed for attorney use
- Assist in the drafting and reviewing of subpoenas, ECF filings, and internal documents
- Conduct and analyze legal research, as well as Federal and Local Rules per case
- Retrieve copyright and trademark information for ongoing or future litigation matters
- Keep in regular contact with each attorney to begin/continue assigned projects
Qualifications:
- 23 years previous Paralegal experience
- Mastery of the following programs:
- Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Westlaw, SharePoint & Mac OSX
- Knowledge of Pacer/ECF and USPTO filing systems
- Ability to prioritize and multitask while meeting tight or shortnotice deadlines
- Superb written and verbal communication skills
- Detailorientation, tremendous organization, and flexibility
- Positive attitude and ability to work well in groups or teams

Pay:
From $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
