    Locum - Physician - Gastroenterology Lakewood, CO


    Join a dynamic healthcare team as a Locum-Gastroenterologist and make a meaningful impact at a renowned Level 1 Trauma facility.

    This opportunity offers comprehensive inpatient coverage, including essential procedures like ERCP, EUS, endoscopy, and GI bleed management, supporting adult and geriatric patients.

    With multiple shifts available starting December 8, 2025, and ongoing into 2025, this role is ideal for those seeking flexible, impactful locum work.


    Key Responsibilities:
    Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including ERCP, EUS, and endoscopy.
    Evaluate and manage GI problems within a high-volume, fast-paced setting.
    Collaborate with hospital staff, including round-the-clock intensivists and hospitalists, to ensure optimal patient care.

    Work primarily in inpatient settings, managing an average of 8-10 new admissions and follow-ups daily, with 5-8 scopes performed per day.

    Participate in continuous quality improvement and adhere to hospital protocols.


    Required Skills:
    Valid medical license with credentials to practice as a Gastroenterologist.
    Proven experience with ERCP and EUS procedures.
    Strong clinical knowledge of GI disorders, bleeding, and diagnostic evaluation.
    Proficient in EMR systems, specifically EPIC.
    Excellent communication and teamwork skills.


    Nice to Have Skills:
    Prior experience working in Level 1 Trauma centers.
    Familiarity with hospitalist and intensivist collaboration.
    Prior locum experience preferred but not mandatory.


    Preferred Education and Experience:
    Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
    Board certification or eligibility in Gastroenterology.
    A minimum of 3+ years of clinical experience in an inpatient setting.
    Demonstrated proficiency with complex procedural techniques like ERCP.


    Other Requirements:
    Availability to cover 5-7 shifts per month, including night and holiday calls.
    Willingness to stay at designated preferred hotels and adhere to travel accommodations.
    Credentialing process to be completed within 60-90 days; urgent privileges available upon need.
    Must complete EMR training, including virtual modules, prior to first day.
    Must provide documentation such as a recent photograph, proof of Epic experience, and appropriate licensing.
    Travel from local area preferred but not required; candidates must disclose travel details.
    No placement fees involved. Hourly pay rate to be determined.
