    Locum - Physician - Gastroenterology Lakewood, CO

    Elevate your practice by joining a leading healthcare team in a dynamic, high-acuity environment. We are seeking a highly skilled Gastroenterologist to provide critical coverage at St. Anthony Hospital, delivering top-tier care in a Level 1 Trauma Center setting.

    This is an outstanding opportunity to utilize your expertise in ERCP, EUS, and advanced endoscopic procedures during a period of urgent need, supporting a dedicated team committed to exceptional patient outcomes.


    Key Responsibilities:
    Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopies, including ERCP, EUS, and general GI procedures.
    Manage a diverse adult and geriatric patient population, handling GI bleed assessments and other complex GI disorders.
    Collaborate with hospital staff to deliver comprehensive inpatient care.
    Contribute to a fast-paced, high-volume environment with approximately 5-8 scopes daily and 8-10 new patient admissions.
    Utilize the EPIC EMR system for documentation and patient management.


    Required Skills & Qualifications:
    Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology.
    Proven proficiency in ERCP and EUS procedures.
    Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
    Excellent communication and clinical decision-making skills.
    Valid medical license in Colorado or the ability to activate via IMLC.
    EMR proficiency with EPIC (experience preferred; must have completed EMR training prior to start).


    Nice to Have Skills:
    Prior experience working in Level 1 Trauma or similar acute care settings.
    Bilingual abilities to enhance patient communication.
    Experience with hospitalist and intensivist interactions.


    Preferred Education & Experience:
    Medical degree (MD/DO) from an accredited institution.
    Minimum of 2 years of clinical practice in Gastroenterology.
    Prior locum or temporary coverage experience preferred.


    Other Requirements:
    Availability to work 5-7 days per month, with shifts ending at 7 a.m. the following day.
    Ability to accommodate schedule and travel preferences, including staying at designated hotels with pre-negotiated rates.
    Willingness to participate in onboarding, EMR virtual training, and credentialing within a 60-90 day timeframe.
    Must complete credentialing requirements promptly, including NPDB report, Colorado license or IMLC, and EMR modules.
    Ability to work in a fast-paced, inpatient setting with Level 1 trauma designation and 24/7 trauma services.
