The Donor Support Specialist provides comprehensive administrative support for all philanthropy team efforts including database management and reporting, donor support and acknowledgement, and prospect research.


What You'll Do:

  • Ensure all donations are processed in a consistent and timely manner in collaboration with accounting and office services.
  • Produce acknowledgement letters for all donors within 48 hours of receipt of donation, ensuring letters are meaningfully tailored to the donor's intent.
  • Develop queries, lists, and reports for philanthropy team members and council leadership.
  • Review donor records for discrepancies and edit as needed.
  • Assist with and execute monthly reconciliation of Raiser's Edge with general ledger.
  • Provide administrative support to the philanthropy team, committees, and meetings as required.
  • Serve as main contact for department event registrations and communications.
  • Execute projects using ancillary event software, including peer to peer fundraising, auction and others as needed.
  • Collaborate with interdepartmental partners, following and identifying department processes as needed.
  • Conduct research on donors and prospective donors to inform philanthropy strategies.
  • Maintain schedule of updating letters periodically to keep communications fresh.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all donor records.
  • Follow policies and procedures to assure the accuracy and quality of recorded constituent and gift information (data integrity).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience and Skills:


What You'll Bring:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent years of experience in related field.
  • Minimum two years' experience providing administrative support in a philanthropy/fundraising environment.
  • Experience using Blackbaud Raiser's Edge preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office software including Word and Excel required.
  • Excellent organizational abilities with strong attention to detail and followthrough.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups from a culturally diverse population.
  • Excellent problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally with all levels of our diverse staff, external customers, and donors.
  • Ability to work efficiently, effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines and achieve goals with mínimal supervision.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
  • Valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and access to reliable transportation. Daily and/or occasional travel may be required.
  • Must have belief in the mission and values of Girl Scouting, be willing to subscribe to the principles expressed in the Promise and Law and be aware of the needs of girls in our pluralistic society.
