    Description

    Job Summary:
    Responsible for all aspects of assigned welding projects (jobs) either in-house or at customer site.

    Exhibit and enforce a culture where safety is the first priorityEssential Duties & Responsibilities:

    This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

    Perform in-house welding to support internal or external projects.
    Perform field (on-site) welding to support customer jobs.
    With technical supervision, performs basic/moderate welding.

    Be an active participant planning and mobilizing field welding projects to ensure proper equipment is supplied to the customer's job.

    Design weldments based on immediate needs of the field machinist or engineering department.

    Ensure dimensional accuracy and quality workmanship Complete appropriate paperwork as requiredProvide feedback to improve programs, processes, tooling etcMaintain a safe, orderly, and clean work areaPerform shop duties as directed and required.


    RequirementsQualifications:
    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.


    Education:
    High school diploma or GED/HSED, requiredJourneyman welder or 2-year technical degree, preferredAmerican Weld Society (AWS) Certification, preferredASME Certification, preferred

    Experience & Skills:
    Two to five years of progressively responsible related experience


    Specifically, this position requires:
    Experience (2-5 years) in one or more (GMAW, FCAW or TIG) type(s) of welding which includes all applicable materials.

    Experience in a job shop or field environment, preferredAbility to perform Out of Position (Vertical Up, Overhead, Angle, etc) weldingAbility to weld solid back weldments.

    Ability to open root weld, preferredAbility to plasma arc cutting and gouging, preferredAbility to carbon arc gouging, preferredKnowledge and experience with AWS and/or ASME welding codesKnowledge, understanding and ability to read and interpret welding symbolsAbility to read and interpret weld prints & mechanical drawingsKnowledge or experience with weld fixturingExperience in low volume and high mix environmentMechanical aptitudeExperience machining, preferredThe above statements reflect the general details necessary to describe the principal functions of the occupation described and shall not be construed as a detailed description of all the work requirements that may be inherent in the occupation.
