Are you fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) and passionate about facilitating communication and access to education for students who are deaf or hard of hearing? Soliant Education is seeking a skilled School Sign Language Interpreter to join our team in the Salinas, CA area

Position:
School Sign Language Interpreter

Location:
Salinas, CA

Employment Type:
Full-time, Contract

Responsibilities:

Provide interpretation services between deaf or hard of hearing students and hearing individuals in educational settings
Interpret classroom lectures, discussions, and other instructional materials into ASL
Assist students in understanding and communicating information presented in spoken English
Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure effective communication and student success
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times

Requirements:

Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter or Educational Interpreter preferred
Experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter in a school setting
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to adapt to different educational environments and settings
