Job Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Program Director, the Program Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the implementation of an evidence-based, developmentally appropriate, non-biased, and culturally responsive curriculum with fidelity throughout all five child development centers.
The Program Coordinator provides training and technical assistance on the Creative Curriculum, the Anti-Bias Curriculum, RIE, ECERS/ITERS, and CLASS to Teachers serving children 0-5 years of age.
Responsibilities:
Health and Safety
- Ensure a clean, wellorganized, attractive, and safe indoor and outdoor environment designed to meet the developmental needs of children.
- Abide by State licensing regulations governing health and safety in child care settings.
- Communicate health and safety issues promptly to the Site Supervisor and Program Director.
- Review and approve weekly playbased lesson plans following the principles of the Creative Curriculum and the Anti-Bias Curriculum, ensuring activities and materials are appropriate for the developmental levels of the children.
- Review the children's observation and assessment processes to ensure DRDP data is used to develop curriculum for individual children and groups of children.
- Assesses all classroom practices using CLASS, ITERS, and ECERS tools to ensure adherence to program policies and industry best practices.
- Provide training, coaching, and technical assistance to Site Supervisors and Teachers, guiding curriculum and environment.
- Treat children with the utmost respect and appreciation, ensuring all children feel supported, encouraged, and nurtured.
- Mentor Site Supervisors in the implementation of a sound early childhood program.
Requirements:
- Site Supervisor Permit.
- BA Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development required.
- Three years of paid work experience in an ECE environment.
- Knowledge of and experience with DRDPs, the Creative Curriculum, Environment Rating Scales, and CLASS.
- Pediatric CPR/First Aid Training Certificate.
- Health Clearance, including TB screen and required vaccinations.
- Strong oral and written communication.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
- Ability to communicate in English. (Bilingual Spanish preferred)
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- High degree of professionalism and accountability.
- Excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Valid California Driver's License and transportation.
Physical Requirements:
Must possess mobility to work in a classroom and play yard settings and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; strength to lift and carry children weighing up to 40 pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.
Pay:
$32.00 per hour
