LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a growing organization in West Chicago, IL and is searching for a skilled Purchasing Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 3 years of experience in sourcing, focusing on procuring Resins, Inks, Adhesives, Corrugated Boxes, Skids, Printers, and Raw Materials for finished goods, preferably in the flexible packaging industry. The Purchasing Manager will oversee a small team, play a crucial role in bidding, sourcing new vendors, and cost containment efforts, offering a Competitive Salary and Benefits Package (PTO, Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance).

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the purchasing function, including sourcing, negotiation, and vendor management for timely and cost-effective procurement.
Develop and implement sourcing strategies to optimize cost savings and ensure a stable supply of materials.
Build and maintain supplier relationships, explore new vendors, and expand the supplier network.
Lead bidding processes, negotiate supplier contracts for favorable terms, and conditions.
Stay updated on market trends, supplier performance, and identify risks and improvement opportunities.
Collaborate with various teams to align purchasing activities with business objectives.
Lead and support a small purchasing team to achieve departmental goals.
Implement processes and systems to enhance purchasing workflows and efficiency.
Focus on cost containment initiatives to reduce procurement expenses without compromising quality.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of sourcing experience with a focus on specific commodities.
Preferred experience in the flexible packaging industry.
Strong negotiation, vendor management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Leadership experience in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in MS Office and a plus with MS Dynamics.
