- High school diploma or equivalent, some college preferred
- Minimum 6 months of experience working with youth
- Available to work between the hours of 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm Monday - Friday during the school year and up to 37.5 hours per week during summer, Monday - Friday between 7:30 am - 6:00 pm
- Ability to be a positive role model
- Ability to establish rapport and build relationships
- Ability to relate to at-risk youth
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Must be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certification
- Must be able to pass all required background screens and drug screens at any time
- Some positions require driving a company vehicle. Candidates must have a satisfactory driving record and a valid driver's license for the operation of a motor vehicle relevant to carrying out duties and to be covered under company insurance. The requirement is for employees to be a minimum of age 21.

- Work experience or program knowledge of the Boys & Girls Club Movement (national and/or local Club)

The Youth Development Specialist oversees safety, administrative compliance, branch programming, and front desk operations. This position requires working with large groups of youth, duties include but are not limited to adhering to all policies, procedures, and processes; safety of members, staff, equipment, materials, and facilities; administrative compliance and reporting with accuracy; membership tracking; implementing assigned programming and activities; provide excellent customer service; build relationships; and be a positive role model.
At the branches, youth receive targeted services in a safe, supportive environment from staff who believe in the organization's mission. The Club experience focuses on three priority outcomes: Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, and Positive Citizenship.
