- Follow the policies and procedures of the facility governing the administration of medications to the residents.
- Report errors in the administration of medications; complete medication adminisration error report as apporopriate.
- Accurately and safely prepare and administer medications that are ordered by a licensed practitioner.
- Record and restock medication inventories, process discontinued medication as directed by the Director of Nursing in accordance with facility policies.
- As a medication aide, you must be familiar with common medical abbreviations, symbols and terms relative to the administration of medications as used by the facility, pharmacists, and physicans.
- Notifies the appropriate staff when a resident complains of pain.
- CMA's must possess the ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
