Your new role


Due to our significant growth, we are expanding our investment capabilities in New York, focusing on Infrastructure, Property, Private Debt and Private Equity.


By joining our team in New York, you will have the opportunity to play a leading role in establishing, implementing, and maintaining a highly effective Asset Management program in the US working with the global Asset Management program team.


The purpose of this position is to implement and maintain a highly effective asset management program that drives value in each of the assets in the Real Assets portfolio (currently primarily direct equity minority investments in infrastructure assets) and oversee certain portfolio assets directly.


Key Responsibilities

Asset Management:

  • Enhance and continuously improve the asset management program by working with asset management teams to drive value in the investments held within the Real Assets Portfolio, including the monitoring, performance analysis and insights across the existing portfolio.
  • Work with the global Asset Management Program team to identify, plan and embed best practice frameworks and processes in the US.
  • Take responsibility for overseeing certain Real Asset portfolio companies, including leading the asset team and acting as AustralianSuper's appointed Board Director or Observer.

Bring operational, change management and/or transformation expertise to assist asset management teams to drive positive outcomes through asset transition and asset ownership.


Transactions:

  • Assist with transaction execution including investment review, analysis, and assessment of new infrastructure opportunities, together with working on transition plans to onboard new investments.

Relationships:

  • Build and maintain relationships with relevant investment peers, managers, and advisers who can assist in the execution of the Real Assets Strategy, specifically by providing insights on best practice asset management.

Talent:
Develop and coach junior team members and foster a positive team environment that is centered on continued value creation.


What you'll need


Culture is key at AustralianSuper and we are looking for someone who is a team player that enjoys working in a high performing collaborative team.


  • Significant experience (12+ years) in portfolio asset management, strategy consulting, change management, transformation and/or operational roles, preferably within infrastructure or property assets.
  • Ability to engage with and establish relationships with senior stakeholders both internally and externally (i.e., asset board members). Ability to build relationships with asset teams to implement process improvements and drive positive outcomes.

Pay transparency notice


The salary range for this position is $280,000 to $350,000 plus discretionary bonus (this is based on full-time hours, located in New York City).

The base pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, and experience and refers to the amount AustralianSuper is willing to pay at the time of posting.
