Position Purpose:


The AXion Chemical Workflow Processor purpose is to develop/execute sourcing strategies to optimize our buying power and reduce overall third party spending.

The Buyer will work closely with fellow Contracting and Procurement personnel, and third party suppliers to integrate and achieve cost savings targets while continuing to ensure business continuity.


Duties & Responsibilities:


AXion Chemical Workflow Processor will:

  • Processes material and service requests on a daily basis.
  • Creates, organizes, and issues purchase orders for approval in SAP.
  • Identifies qualified suppliers for RequestforQuote (RFQ) solicitations regarding long lead material for Turnarounds.
  • Coordinates and negotiates with suppliers to support business stakeholder delivery dates and lead times.
  • Tracks ontime delivery of materials during execution.
  • Troubleshoots issues with Purchase Orders, vendor outline agreements, payment terms, and invoices.
  • Engages Requisitions team to manage costs on an event by event basis.
  • Challenges demand, specification, and cost to deliver savings on a continual basis.
  • Purchase order maintenance (increases, decreased, closures)
  • Open PO report/Parked and Blocked Report
  • Expediting functions (vendor communications)
  • Materials Management
  • UWL action items
  • Material discrepancies (returns, shorts, missorders, vendor errors)
  • Purchase order creation (issuing nonauto purchase orders)

Qualifications:


  • The ability to calculate chemical tolerances.
  • Robust familiarity with SAP and supporting systems.
  • Understanding of chemical/manufacturing equipment, small tools, and consumables.
  • Capable of supporting challenging stakeholders.
  • Exhibits field presence and knowledge
  • Minimum of three (3+) years working experience, preferably in a Procurement/Expeditor environment.
