    Description
    Head of MI Data with Point72, L.P. (New York, NY)


    Develop or apply mathematical or statistical theory and methods to collect, organize, interpret, and summarize numerical data to provide usable information.

    Conduct research through data mining and statistical modeling to discover insights from Big Data that are used by investment professionals to make investment decisions.

    Work in a highly collegial environment that emphasizes teaching and learning as a team. Conduct statistical modeling and data mining on structured and unstructured data to extract insights.

    Manage all aspects of the research process, including methodology selection, data collection and quality assurance, modeling and analysis, and performance monitoring.

    Deliver research findings to investment teams, portfolio managers, and other internal clients. Work within a team to help drive innovation on metrics and modeling strategies. Salary range $300,000-$400,000.

    Requires a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, or related. Position requires 5 years of progressive, post-bachelor's related experience.

    Must have some experience in each of the following skills:

    Machine learning, statistical models, and data mining techniques; Data cleaning, processing, feature engineering, and modeling to analyze various big-scale and complex data including structured and unstructured sources; Statistical methods, including generalized regression model, time series, and SVM, to model business applications and provide solid prediction of business fundamentals, including top line revenue and user growth; Integrate data analysis and conduct fundamental researches to support alpha generation and trading decision making in financial and banking industries; Build efficient and robust data processing pipelines on distributed system to process large-scale data and create scalable analytics solutions; and Python, SQL/NoSQL, and (Spark or R).
