Schmitt Engineering is a medium-sized company based in Erlangen. With many years of engineering expertise in various industries, we are a partner to the industry.

Our activities cover the entire process chain from planning and project management to development and construction, as well as production, assembly, and commissioning.


Your tasks will include:

  • Development and verification of embedded realtime software for highly complex and highperformance software systems for safetycritical flight applications
  • Conducting requirement analyses, design (UML), coding (C/C++), integration and verification, as well as configuration/change management
  • Evaluation and assessment of tasks
  • Monitoring and reporting according to specifications
  • Supervision and technical guidance of customers and suppliers
  • Collaboration with other departments and locations
  • Software configuration management and maintenance of the software development environment

Your profile:

  • Completed degree in electrical engineering or a comparable qualification with initial professional experience in software development
  • Good knowledge of embedded operating systems, Ethernet, and/or CAN bus is advantageous
  • Knowledge of C/Python, ClearCase, SVN, DOORS, and Rhapsody is advantageous
  • Good German and English language skills, both written and spoken
