Description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel and follow safety protocol.
Plan and schedule repairs in a timely manner.
Perform general maintenance including landscaping, painting, and carpentry.
Repair faulty equipment.
Conduct maintenance of electrical systems.
Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety regulations.
Support the setup of ventilation, refrigeration and other systems and conduct repairs when necessary.
Aid in budget development and ensure it is followed.
Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality.
Inspect alarm systems such as carbon dioxide and fire protection and quickly schedule repairs when needed.
Coordinate pest control measures.
Other duties assigned.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Understanding of electrical, hydraulic and other systems.
Demonstrated experience as a maintenance technician.
Physically capable of lifting 50 or more pounds.
Strong understanding of general maintenance processes and methods.
Experienced in operating a variety of equipment, including snow blowers, lawn mowers, and small hand tools.
Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent manual dexterity and problemsolving skills
Flexibility to work unexpected hours.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or higher.
HVAC Certification required.
EPA 1 & 2 technician certification required.
Bilingual is a plus.

The employee must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds individually and up to 200 pounds with assistance devices (i.e. hand trucks, appliance dollies, additional persons etc.).

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability focus.

Additionally, the employee works in an outdoor environment and is exposed to adverse weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment may be moderate to high.
