Kennel Assistant - Fullerton, United States - VIP Animal Care

Description

Responsibilities:

• Provide daily care and maintenance for animals in the kennel
• Feed, water, and exercise animals according to their specific needs
• Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and common areas
• Administer medications as directed by veterinary staff
• Monitor the health and behavior of animals and report any concerns to the supervisor
• Assist with grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and nail trimming
• Handle animals safely and securely during examinations and procedures
• Maintain accurate records of animal care and treatment

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with animals, such as in a veterinary clinic or animal shelter
• Knowledge of animal behavior, handling techniques, and basic medical care
• Ability to restrain animals safely and effectively
• Physical stamina to perform tasks that may involve heavy lifting or prolonged periods of standing or walking
• Excellent communication skills to interact with pet owners and veterinary staff
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as needed
