Position Information
This position is does not offer remote modality but in campus presence.


Under the general supervision of the Director of Graduate Student Success, the Graduate Academic Advisor will advise students in the development of meaningful educational plans; promote students' intellectual and personal development; discuss and clarify educational goals; help students to acquire relevant information and university services; interpret institutional, general education, and program requirements; evaluate and monitor student academic progress, course choice, and class schedule in the context of student life and career goals.

The Graduate Academic Advisor will engage in the evaluation of student learning progress, career goals, and academic stressors; partner with the School of Business Career Center regarding how course selection interacts with internship and employment plans; analyze student information system data to better understand the academic challenges faced by particular student populations; assists faculty on determining course scheduling needs; evaluate petitions for exceptions.

The incumbent will perform advising duties that are based on theories and knowledge of teaching, learning, and human development, and reflect developmental advising approaches.

The full salary range for the Graduate Programs Coordinator is $23.85 to $40.33 per hour. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $36.21 per hour.

We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.

Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.
