Responsible for providing Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) operations leadership to include personnel management, patient satisfaction, clinical performance improvement, clinical productivity target volumes and clinical quality initiatives.

The ASC Administrator will coordinate the surgical services activities with the various support services.

The ASC Administrator will provide oversight of the day-to-day surgery center operations and collaborate with the leadership team to establish process improvement.


Primary position responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the development, profitability and efficient operation of surgery center clinical lines of business.
  • Effectively balance coordination of business operations to achieve strategic goals and achieve targeted results.
  • Responsible for oversight of the accreditation activities.
  • Able to effectively multitask multiple plans at the same time.
  • Coach direct reports through root-cause analysis and support their efforts to identify resolution.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring activities for the surgery center staff, including non-direct reports.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Nursing, Medical Director and Governing Board to identify clinical performance targets, metrics, and a process and tools for measuring performance.
  • Oversee, organize and maintain the budgets for all lines of business assigned.
  • Work closely with Revenue Cycle to ensure a fluid coding process is implemented
  • Assist in development of policies, procedures and standard operating practices related to achievement of goals. Maintains comprehensive policy and procedure manuals with annual review updates.
  • Collaborate with other ASC members, inter
- and intradepartmental, and external groups to affect necessary changes and build relationships.


  • Maintain project work plan/s and monitors activity against plan.
  • Assess and collaborate to improve clinical processes; Improve clinical operational communications between clinical staff, providers and administration.
  • Enhance the productivity of the ASC staff and providers, to ensure maximum efficiencies.
  • Provide direct oversight to clinical management and collaborate with the Medical Director and Governing Board in key areas such as Human Resources, Marketing, Customer Service, process improvement opportunities, space utilization, creative staffing solutions, etc.
  • Monitors performance of direct reports. Provides prompt and objective coaching and counseling.
  • Maintain professional affiliations and enhances professional growth and development to keep current in the latest trends in clinical operations
  • Attends required meetings and participates as a committee as requested.
  • Maintains strictest confidentiality.
  • Participate in leadership projects and activities as appropriate
  • Oversee, create and deliver staff training
  • Other duties as required.
