Job DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY
The Sr. Safety Specialist assists the Regional HSE Manager within a region. The position provides support and guidance for the Region to ensure that the Company's objectives are achieved in the areas of health and safety. This includes providing assistance and instruction to all levels of management, safety personnel and employees in their efforts to reduce the frequency and severity of personal injuries, motor vehicle accidents, property damage losses and environmental releases. The position audits the safety efforts of all areas in the Region for standardization and implements the sharing of best practices. The position plans, develops, implements, and monitors programs to ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures and all local, state and federal regulations.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
1. Conducts safety and health assessments and inspection of records, equipment, and facilities to promote compliance with safety regulations and recordkeeping requirements as established by the Company and/or local, state or federal laws.
2. Responsible for assisting in the identification of possible losses; evaluating the risk in such loss exposure; developing and implementing a plan to correct or prevent a loss and audit the plan to ensure its effectiveness.
3. Provides expertise in accident investigation to assist in identifying the cause and corrective measures necessary to prevent recurrence.
4. Recommends accident reduction goals and strategies from an analysis of available reports and statistics.
5. Assists in identifying training needs for the District. Evaluates those training programs in place and assists in implementation of new programs.
6. Perform and contribute to the Site Training Plans by conducting employee orientations; emergency response training; and coordination of modular training programs for field activities.
7. Establishes and maintains a line of communication with operations management, customer vendors, educational institutions, professional organizations, and applicable governmental agencies.
8. Performs and assumes other duties and responsibilities as may be required by immediate supervisor.
9. Adheres to Company policies and work requirements.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education:
1. A bachelor's degree in Safety Science or related field plus three years of experience as an HSE Coordinator or similar role or;
2. 2 years managerial or supervisory experience in the oilfield services industry or;
3. High School Diploma with 10 years of experience in an occupational health and safety role.
4. Safety Professional Certification such as OHST (Occupational Health & Safety Technologist, ASP (Associate Safety Professional) or CSP (Certified Safety Professional) a plus.
Experience & Skills:
1. 2+ Years' Experience; construction and mining experience preferred.
2. 2+ Years' Experience; completions and stimulation experience required.
3. An understanding of all applicable government laws, regulations and reporting procedures such as OSHA, MSHA, and D.O.T.
4. Knowledge of the industry's safety, training and environmental concepts, standards and practices.
5. A thorough knowledge of the techniques of accident investigation and loss control.
6. A capability of developing programs and making presentations to employee groups. An understanding of basic management concepts, including Training, Goal Setting, Employee Selection, Benefits, Motivation, Communication, Delegation and Organization.
