9Muses is looking for an experienced support group leader with a passion for the Literary Arts to lead general mental wellness groups and creative writing classes.

9MusesArtCenter is a drop-in center located in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

We are a program of Mental Health America of Southeast Florida providing free, peer-driven behavioral health support to adults with mental health and substance use disorders.

The center has a fully functioning studio for fine arts classes.

Participants may choose from a broad array of visual and performing arts as well as wellness activities and support groups.

This is a part-time position initially accountable to the Consumer Support Program Manager and ultimately to the Adult Services Director.

The position is funded by a Broward County Human Services Department grant that enhances the quality and array of opportunities offered at 9MusesArtCenter.

In addition to all applicable considerations of the MHA personnel Policies, the position is as follows:


  • Responsible for individual and group peer support sessions, training and execution of specific evidencebased practices, group and workshop facilitation, proper documentation of member interactions, modeling competency in recovery and wellness, information, and linkage to additional services.
  • Work with Center staff on monthly calendar.
  • Facilitate Mental Wellness Support Groups covering a variety of topics. Responsible for the documentation of support group membership participation.
  • Conduct regular surveys of members to assure satisfaction and member input in program development.
  • Must be computer literate and familiar with Office 365 products. (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Power Point, Word, One Drive, Sharepoint, etc)
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Possible opportunity for pay increase after achieving and maintaining Peer Specialist Certification.

From $18.00 per hour
