    Manufacturing Engineer

    About RTC Aerospace:

    RTC Aerospace combines precision manufacturing locations across the West Coast. Each of these locations bring exceptional cellular manufacturing capability and offers unique engineered solutions to our clients' designed products. We offer precision manufacturing solutions from raw material to completed product meeting clients' design criteria. All of RTC Aerospace's locations are AS9100 certified and are independently managed.

    How You'll Make an Impact:

    From Operators to Machinist and Programmers, our team members in our Manufacturing Department can transform a rough product into something complete within exacting tolerances. They enable an organization to produce products on-time and to a customer's requirement. Our Manufacturing team members work alongside many departments such as: Quality, Engineering, and Operations to produce high-quality products.

    What You'll be Doing as a Manufacturing Engineer:

    • Working a Full-time position onsite at our Chatsworth, California location.
    • Preferred shift time is Monday – Friday 8am-4:30pm. Other shift times may also be available.


    • Provide written work instructions


    • Provide detailed drawings and modes to augment work instructions.


    • Creates and executes process router, drawing, inspection plans and other written documentation changes.


    • A strong attention to detail is a must, as is a fundamental understanding of the technical, financial, and physical demands of the manufacturing process.


    • Perform process evaluation for corrective action and product development.


    • Assists quoting team by providing methods, time estimates, and cost data needed to complete customer quotations.


    • Provides regular communication on the status of project tasks and milestones to internal stakeholders.


    • Other responsibilities as assigned.


    • Participates in resolving customer complaints and conducts corrective and preventive action investigations.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace, or manufacturing engineering or equivalent experience
    • Experience in Design for Manufacturing/Assembly
    • Experience with SolidWorks and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) for component and tooling design.
    • A fundamental understanding of machine shop practices is required.
    • A Minimum of 5 years of related experience in the machine shop environment is required.
    • Experience working with AS9100 regulations.
    • Proven multi-tasker that works within timelines and budgets.
    • Good organizational, written and verbal skills
    • Ability to read, interpret and implement customer drawing and specification requirements.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products appropriate to the execution of assigned tasks.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to coach, train and develop others.
    • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, maintain organization and focus despite numerous interruptions.
    • Team player with a can-do attitude.
    • Proven ability to excel within an environment of fast-paced deadline-driven environment with intense deadlines and fluctuating workload.
    • High ethical standards in relations with personnel, suppliers, and customers.
    • Team player with a can-do attitude and takes ownership for current and past work.
    • Highly organized and strong coordination skills.

    • Ability to lift or move up to 50lbs.
    • Reach forward, up, down and to the side in order to move equipment.

    • Ability to reach with hands and arms; use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel material.
    • Access, input, and retrieve information from a computer.

    Work Environment:

    A large percentage of work time is spent in a machine shop where temperatures vary from hot to cold. The environment may also include exposure to noise, dust, fumes, vapor from coolant, etc. Industry standard safety equipment is provided by the Company, and specific notice is posted in areas where safety equipment is required.

    Compensation and Benefits:

    Employee Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, long disability and 401(k) with up to 6% QACA company match.

    The Manufacturing Engineer Compensation range for onsite California applicants is $90,000-$115,000 commensurate with experience. Some shifts may include shift differential pay rates. Other site ranges may differ.
