The
Systems Engineering Team Lead will support the
JETS II in **Houston.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Systems Engineering Team Lead will be managing the SE activities of the Gateway Program GRAIL Laboratory.
Support engineering flight project schedule, procurement documentation, budget and system requirements documents.
Develop and support subproject requirement and verification data packages to support architecture requirements, design, verification/validation, operations, and sustaining engineering.
Conduct product life cycle reviews, coordinate integration, verification and validation activities.
Work with requirements to align with hardware specifications while understanding the verifications.
Perform system engineering functions of projects and provide user input feedback during the design process.
Work with ground testing and flight operations testing of hardware with end item documentation.
Review verification and validation reports to verify compliance with requirements.
Participate and contribute to system requirements reviews, preliminary design reviews and critical design reviews.
Perform and review system level architecture trade studies and analyses that will influence the overall electrical design and performance.
Participate in test, verification, and operation of the asbuilt hardware.
Work with team members and leads to identify risks, develop risk statements, and plan risk responses.
Work and present schedule and progress to customers. Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED:

Requires a
bachelor's degree in engineering.
Must have
5+ years of recent and related experience.
License and certification may be required.
Knowledge and understanding of SE&I processes, methodologies, tools and technologies including modelbased systems engineering.
Knowledge of test principles, tools, and processes needed to develop test requirements.
Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the space hardware field, such as mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings and sketches, and material selection.

DESIRED:

Knowledge of Flight Hardware and/or Flight Processes/Paperwork.
Experience with NASA processes.
Knowledge and experience with DOORS Next Generation.

WORK LOCATION:

This position is located onsite.
This position offers a 9/80 schedule, every other Friday off. This position may require some travel.

BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS REQUIRED:

All Bastion employees must be able to pass a national agency check, some positions require a clearance and will require an extensive background verification/check process.

DRUG AND ALCOHOL SCREENING REQUIRED:

All Bastion employees must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen; some contracts require participation in periodic random drug and alcohol screening programs.

STANDARD BASTION REQUIREMENTS:

Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
All of Bastion's employees must be team players.
Able to communicate effectively, verbally and in written form, with internal and external customers.
Able to follow company programs, processes, procedures, practices, requirements, goals, and objectives.
Must have a strong work ethic and must be safety culture oriented.
Must be organized with good time management skills.
Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time).
May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).
Regular attendance in accordance with an established work schedule is critical.
Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
