LAYERTEC GmbH is a medium-sized, family-owned company with over 400 employees. The company develops and produces sophisticated optics in high quantities for renowned laser manufacturers, as well as individual components for research institutions and universities worldwide. The production includes both fine optics manufacturing (flat surfaces, lenses, aspheres) and their coating with modern sputtering and vapor deposition processes.

At our headquarters in 99441 Mellingen (Thuringia), we are currently looking for new team members in full-time (38 hours/week) as development engineers*.

Your responsibilities:

  • Development of requirements and preparation of development projects
  • Processing of (partial) projects and tasks in the field of surface measurement technology
  • Creation of measurement setups for special applications in the measurement technology laboratory
  • Technical guidance of measurement engineers and laboratory technicians
  • Ensuring internal knowledge transfer

Your profile:

  • Completed technical/scientific studies
  • Several years of professional experience as a development engineer (laser/opto-technology, optical measurement technology or
  • similar) and/or a doctorate, for example in experimental physics
