Overview:

  • Responsible for managing all the advance work for shows and schedule sound engineers and lighting designers.
  • Maintain equipment, stage, storage areas, and common technical spaces in venues as required
Administrative and Other Duties

  • Working 23 Tech Shifts a week
  • Available Days, Evening, Nights at a total of 4550 hours a week.

Leads / responsibilities_

  • Hiring, Scheduling, Training, Coaching and Counseling of Tech Team
  • Auditing/Inspecting work ensuring consistency and meeting of our standards
  • Maintaining and promoting morale and teamwork
  • Performance Management (skill development, evaluations, disciplinary action)
  • With assistance from Box Office Manager communicate ("Advance") with tour managers, production managers and clients to prepare for each scheduled performance.
  • Interact with artists/ clients on aspects of a show production including show labor,parking needs, equipment rentals and other production related tasks as requested bythe Operations Department
  • Liaise with clients and suppliers to advance events in the preproduction period when required
  • Support Owner and Director of Operations in providing information and input regarding day to day decision making to maintain optimum venue technical operations. Facilitate and Distribute information to necessary parties and leadership.
  • Identity operational and gear issues
- ability to execute in house repairs
- outsource repairs and rentals where needed
- build vender relationships to negotiate best pricing

  • Proactively manage timeline; keep events and crew on schedule and observing breaks as required
  • Ensure quality control
  • Oversee Gear Inventory
  • Develop relationships with Vendor's concerning rentals & repairs
  • Facilities needs in venue space to be communicated to Facilities Manager
  • Fiscal Responsibility for Labor of Tech/Lighting/Stage Hands
  • Fiscal Responsibility for repairs, maintenance, replacements and rentals
  • Labor Management
  • Positive Client and Guest relations and resolvement of complaints concerning the Production Department
  • Budget and monitor profitability concerning margins, labor, and operating expenses

Training & Employee Management
Ensure consistency in quality of live music. Monitor staff to ensure proper handling of gear and knowledge. Work towards a team that runs itself and takes ownership. Create manuals and support materials for staff reference. Responsible for all hiring, firing, training, planning, assigning and discipling Tech Team, addressing complaints and solving problems that arise. Forecast to properly manage labor hours.


Inventory Management &
Maintenance


In collaboration with other department heads including Facilities Manager, Senior Operations Manager and Director of Ops, develop a calendar of maintenance checks.

Implement preventative maintenance via nightly closing duties, periodic sidework, and a calendar of checks and maintenance for equipment. Develop a system for staff to report issues and for management to respond to them in a timely manner. Troubleshoot and remedy problems with venue technical systems; identify equipment deficiencies and maintenance issues and consult with Management regarding repair and replacement planning and timelines; provide input on capital planning goals and strategies


Relationship Management
Strong leadership and respectful communication with Tech Team, Booking Team, Venue on site staff. Demonstraties care, passion and professionalism in all interactions with Talent. Connection with servers to encourage understanding of menu items and specials. Work alongside Beverage Director, Turks FOH Service Manager & Director of Ops. Mentorship of strong teammates and constant increase of knowledge and skill.


Live Sound Shifts
Schedule must be approved by the Director of Operations. 2-3 Sound or Lighting shifts a week expected. Expected to be on site a minimum of 4 days a week. Sound executed by Technical Director for High Profile Talent.

  • Participate in loadin, setup, operation, and strike and restore activities related to venue use
  • Operate lighting, audio, and video consoles and/or equipment for performances and events

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3year minimum live show audio mixing experience with a venue, tour or productionCompany, large venues preffered.
  • Experience in professional concert audio systems, stage lighting and video systems
  • Strong work ethic with a cando attitude
  • Experience and knowledge of Prism preferred.
  • Ability to manage and organize multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills and passion for live music
  • Must thrive in a team environment, but be able to take initiative and workautonomously
  • Must be able to lift up to 75lbs and work in an environment with loud audio and strobelighting
