The Team Leader

  • Janitor is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, evaluation, and supervision of subordinate staff in the maintenance of the Federal contract. This person plans, assigns, and directs work to be done in accordance with contract requirements, Didlake's policies and procedures, and applicable laws. In the event supervision of subordinates is required at a different or sublocation on the contract, the Team Leader may be required to utilize personal transportion to and from the sublocation with all travel reimbursed (at the applicable rate) by Didlake Inc. on a monthly basis.
  • Cleaning hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevator banks, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
  • Supervision of subordinates is required at a different sublocation on the contract on how to do assigned work and in using equipment and supplies appropriately.
  • The Team Leader will routinely be required to utilize personal transportation to and from the sublocation with all travel reimbursed (at the applicable rate) by Didlake Inc. on a monthly basis. Transporting supplies, equipment, or personnel is not a requirement.
  • Cleaning floors using brooms, mops, and powered scrubbing and waxing machines.
  • Polishing metalwork such as fixtures and fittings.
  • Washing windows, door panels, and sills.
  • Emptying wastebaskets.
  • Replenishing bathroom supplies and floor supplies.
  • Setting an example through dependability, hard work, strong business ethics, and personal appearance.
  • Assigning tasks and issuing supplies and equipment to staff and inspecting completed work for conformance to standards.
  • Requisitioning supplies and equipment from the Project Manager.
  • Addressing complaints and resolving problems of employees and customers; referring to supervisor as necessary.
  • May fill in for general cleaning staff as needed.
  • Operating power equipment such as twostage snow blowers.
  • During inclement weather, providing proper upkeep by removing snow from walkways, building entrances and dock ramps, and spreading snow/ice melting chemicals.
  • Responsible for fostering a positive team spirit and producing quality work.
  • Responsible for appropriate conduct and/or demeanor as dictated by Didlake policy and procedure.
  • Completes required paperwork and/or documentation.
  • Completes and maintains all required Didlake training.
  • Acts as a good steward of employer and government resources.
  • Responsible for following safety standards and guidelines in the proper use of the equipment and other activities.
  • Participates in establishing Employee Support Plans with the Workforce Support and Development (WSD) team for supported personnel and maintains plan confidentiality requirements.

Requirements:


Education:


  • High School diploma/GED or any combination of experience/education to equal graduation from the 12th grade. One (1) year recent, relevant experience in commercial custodial or maintenance services.

Skills and Abilities:


  • Prior supervisory experience.
  • Some knowledge of equipment and chemicals used, i.e. Scrubbers, Billy Goat blowers, vacuums, snowblowers, and EZ-Go.
  • Possess the ability to pass a background check.
  • Must have verbal and written communication to read simple instructions, recognize the difference between words and numbers, and print and speak simple sentences.
  • Ability to remind and retrain staff of standard operating procedures and safe operation of equipment.
  • Ability to interact effectively and positively with employees with disabilities required.
  • Some knowledge of general cleaning products and equipment is required.
  • Must possess and demonstrate high initiative, adaptability, reliability, flexibility, and convey a positive team member attitude.
  • Must possess a valid state driver's license and, if driving company vehicles, complete driver safety awareness training.
