Shipping Clerk/forklift Operator - Spring, United States - Viking Power Technologies

Description

• Receive, unpack, visually inspect, and sign for materials and supplies upon arrival.
• Verify accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments through counts and visual inspections as noted on the packing slip.
• Report any damages or discrepancies to the Lead for proper accounting, reimbursement, and recordkeeping.
• Load and unload trucks using forklifts and/or combi lifts.
• Perform cycle counts and manage inventory movements within the ERP system.
• Execute additional duties of a similar or lesser nature as required.

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least three years of related experience and/or training in a similar role.
• Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the shipping and receiving field.
• Demonstrated ability to plan and accomplish goals with limited supervision.

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Keen attention to detail.
• Physical strength and stamina required for manual handling of heavy items.

• Certified or able to be certified in forklift operation.

• This role involves regular physical labor and the use of machinery such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
