Description
Under the direction of the Chemical Hygiene Officer (CHO) in Environment, Health and Safety, the incumbent will be responsible for implementation of the Radiofrequency Identification (RFID) Chemical Inventory Reconciliation Program.
Incumbent will service for six months up to one year as a project manager and supervisor for student workers inventorying chemical containers in a laboratory research/teaching setting in the Department of Chemistry/Biochemistry and other departments on campus.

Qualifications
- UC Chemicals Experience using UC Chemicals (preferred)
- Basic knowledge of EPA and Cal/Osha safety regulations, guidelines, and requirements regarding storage and handling of hazardous materials. (preferred)
- Knowledge of regulatory agencies, policies and procedures relating to chemical inventory management, particularly, CUPA/CERS. (preferred)
- Knowledge of best management practices regarding working in a research laboratory environment. (preferred)
- Ability to compile, organize, track and maintain inventory records of chemical containers in a research/academic setting. (required)
- Skill in written and verbal communication with persons of various social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds for the purposes of gathering and disseminating information. (required)
- Experience coordinating work activities of others. (required)
- Experience working independently, using sound judgement under pressure; working effectively with faculty, university administrators, staff and students in a large, complex organization. (required)
- Skill in exchanging ideas, information and opinions with others to formulate policies and programs and/or arrive jointly at decisions, conclusions, or solutions. Skill in working as part of a team; collaboration with collegues. (required)
